Jill was born on the 28th November 1945, in a little mining village called Llay just outside Wrexham in North Wales. She attended the village school up to the age of sixteen and, as far as she can remember, most of her formative years were spent reading. She started with books written by Enid Blyton, and Beatrix Potter before moving on to the classics: the Brontë sisters and her all-time favourite, Charles Dickens. More recently her reading list includes Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Jill has had a variety of jobs. Her favourite of these was as a Nursery Assistant in the local school.

She married at the age of twenty-two, and has a son, Antony, who is now thirty-eight and has three children of his own. Jill enjoys reading to the children, especially adventure stories.

Jill started writing children’s novels for her grandchildren. She promised to write an adventure story inlcluding them all which they can pass on to their children. She is now retired, and enjoying her new life as a writer.
